It's About Time YOU Joined the Sea Cadets!
But just as important as it is to know what the Sea Cadets is about...it's also important to know what it is NOT about. It is NOT about getting kids and teens to join the Navy or any of the armed forces. Yes, there are certainly benefits to having been a Sea Cadet if you choose to enter the military, attend one of the military academies, or seek an ROTC Scholarship...but that's not what Sea Cadets is about.
It's about applying the same skills,
respect and courtesy learned in the Navy structure of the Sea Cadets to
everyday life. How you interact with your friends, family, teachers,
relatives and even strangers can be wonderfully and positively developed and
influenced by your Sea Cadet experience. And you'll get to do cool
stuff that most adults never get a chance to do...much less teenagers!
Visit and learn on Navy and Coast Guard ships, learn about aviation or port operations, visit
England or Australia or many other countries with similar Sea Cadet youth
programs. Just to mention a very few of the very many adventures
awaiting you when you join Team Spruance here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida!
